Getting Wild at Kielder! Get the family together and discover your wild side at Kielder this May for a weekend of exploration in nature. We’ll be getting ‘Wild at Kielder’ on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th May with a weekend full of wildlife themed activities. You’ll be joining Kielder volunteers and wildlife experts to experience the wilder side of Kielder Water and Forest Park. There will be a huge range of activities to choose from including wild food foraging, wilderness survival, getting closer to our feathered friends, wild walking tours, wildlife cruises and wildlife themed cycle tours. This is a chance to see the wilder side of Kielder; opening up a world of exploration and excitement that will keep little and large kids enthralled and involved in nature for the rest of their lives. Most of today’s most famous wildlife experts and naturalists spent their childhoods rummaging around in hedges, heathlands and rivers, learning about the environment and the wonderful creatures that depend on it. So why not embark on a WILD adventure at Kielder this May to discover the fun and passion that an outdoor lifestyle brings? Keep an eye on the Northumberland Wildlife Trust’s facebook (www.facebook.com/northumberlandwt) and twitter (@NorthWildlife) pages to stay up to date with our activity calendar. Tickets will be on sale soon to set you off on your wild adventures! -- Wildlife activities will be taking place across Kielder, some will be ticket admission only and others will include downloadable activity sheets that you can bring along with you for some self-exploration. Activities will entertain the whole family – wildlife survival, arts and crafts, getting to know the wildlife around you, wild food foraging, dark sky and star exploration and some adventures for those wishing to stretch more than their legs…lakeside cycle tours, wildlife canoe trips and much more.
